On Saturday evening the 23rd November the highest building of Germany, the Berlin television, became projection surface for Greenpeace and Bocatec. With the lettering „Save the Arctic“ Greenpeace appealed to the Russian investigative authorities to withdraw their charge against 28 Greenpeace activists and two Bild journalists.

For the laser projection on the 368 meter high television tower Bocatec rented an extra hotel room. Two 20W RGB laser wrote then one hour long the message Save the Arcticin a loop on the tower. But then the police discovered the projector location and asked Bocatec to stop the action.

The story behind the mega projection
The 18th September 2013 Greenpeace activists wanted to fix a poster at the oil offshore platform  Prirazlomnaya in the Petschora sea. For this platform operated by Gazprom exists no sufficient emergency plans for a potential oil accident. It is the first platform in the arctic that should convey oil on a grand scale. Due to the rough weather conditions, every bigger oil accident can lead to an environmental disaster.

The peaceful protest action for the arctic that is threatened by climate change and industrialization ended then other than expected. The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise and 30 activists got arrested by the Russian authorities by force without further ado. More than two month later indeed 28 of the „Arctic 30“ are at large on bail, but they are still threatened by multi-year imprisonments. Against this procedure Greenpeace now protest with manifold support, amongst others very public-oriented on the television tower with the help of Bocatec.

The projection was a raving success for Greenpeace. Thousands of passerby people gazed at the tower and thus are perhaps now interested to learn about the backgrounds. Every year again… and however, every year a good reason to paint the town red! Christmas comes closer and so all over the famous Christmas markets open their doors. Especially ceremonial and pompous the inhabitants of Hamburg welcomed the Christmas time in the Hafencity on 25th November. Therefor Bocatec threw out the sparks and made the lasers dance.

The fantastic opening spectacle started the 25th November at 17:30 at the ice rink of the HafenCity Christmas market. There, in the Überseequartier, the heart of the Hamburg HafenCity the visitors awaited a magical Christmas wonderland from 26th-31st December. Nostalgic carousel, ice rink, Christmas bakery and a Pegasus made of lights floating above the white pagoda tents spread festive atmosphere. The start for ice dances, hot wine punch parties and lebkuchen nibbling couldn’t have been more beautiful thanks to the Bocatec opening show.

Flaming ice dance joins in
Bocatec put the ca. 300 guest in total Christmas fever with a huge laser-, pyro- and fireworks show. The ice elves from Berlin danced on the ice to the show. The figure skaters – all junior masters and members of the German national team – moved synchronously to the music and the perfectly balanced pyro effects over the ice.

The five Bocatec Christmas elves mounted and dismounted the technics for the show within 80 man hours. The show itself was then 10 minutes long. The 9 laser projectors ( 5x Piko 14, 4x PM3200) and the pyrotechnics were mounted in vacant houses around the market square.

Six fog machines with radial fan, 16 Flame projectors, 2 MagicFX FlameManiacs and divers fireworks- and pyro articles completed the Christmas show.

After the show it really started
The interminable applause and the exuberant thanks of thepresenter proved the uniqueness of this opening celebration. After this wow attunement the Christmas lovers can now buy arts and crafts, goodies and also Christmas trees every day in the Hafencity or join a lantern procession. Thursdays and Fridays the working day will end atmospherically at the After-Work. Moreover every evening at 6 pm one wicket opens at the illuminated Überseequartier-Advent calendars at the old Hafenamt.

Bocatec wishes all Christmas women and men a lot of fun and looks forward to a great end of the year with lashings of extra boom!


Bocatec-Trip from 28th November to 7th December – that means: A tanked up camper bus, 6 good-humored Bocatec-Roadies and 9 days free time. Exactly the right time in the middle of the cold wither grey the whole Bocatec team says goodbye to head towards the „Sunshine State“.

The 11th January the Infiniti Brand Festival blew up all records in respect to event dimensioning. Pop star Katy Perry interrupted her promo tour for her new album „Prism“ and cancelled the Golden Globes to take part in the Infiniti mega event. At her very first performance in China she sang live as headliner for Infiniti her super hits. Bocatec was hired to rock the complete two hour show full of highlights with light and laser technics. A first league mission.

China pulls ahead
In the meantime is clear: China booms. The country has uncountable dollar millionaires and Peking is even more expensive than Munich. Actually no wonder that the enthusiastic Chinese also take our breath with their events and top everything what we have seen before. Anyway, to experience this show live was plain folly- enormous, bombastic, simply „amazing“!
The car manufacturer Infiniti invited to its brand festival over 10.000 customers to the Peking national indoor Olympic Stadium. Furthermore he engaged Katy Perry and several Chinese super stars for the festival and invested in much technical finesse to put everything on stage. Already 10 TV teams buzzed around to broadcast the car show and the performances of the mega stars for the million spectators on the computer and TV screens at home. Bocatec coordinated the main part of the really opulent show technics for all the show.

Extra portion technical delicacy
The array of technics, controlled by Bocatec was incomparable: 600 moving head lights, as well as over hundred other light effects were installed around the stage. 200 Watt white light laser power in 10 laser machines were mounted for the six laser shows with a lot effort flexibly and movable into the 30 meter high stage setting. 800 square meter big LED screens had to be recorded. Additionally six high-power fog machines and six hazers were used. The management of Infiniti and Katy Perry trusted Bocatec completely and passed over the responsibility for the whole planning and programming oft height and laser show. In the studio the Bocatec experts prepared the show before and let it then run via time code and the Phoenix show controller and two full size Grand MA2. All laser projectors were therefor equipped with WLAN radio link antennas because the cable path was to long with 400 meter each. The buildup took 5 days for the five Bocatec guys and several helpers on site.

That Infiniti didn’t take half-measures also for details shows also this mind-blowing gimmick: Around the main stage swam 8 artificial tall swans on lake surfaces. Every swan was manually remote controlled each by one Chinese. As final surprise the Infiniti Logo in maxi format (4 x 6 m) rose from the two meter deep water basin. Unfortunately such technical extras almost disappeared in European shows.

The Brand Story
The Infiniti Motor Company Ltd. Is very successful in China with its premium cars and wants to transport values like freedom and emotion. The core message of Infiniti was developed as story consequently over the whole brand festival. A giant mask in the middle of the stage stood symbolically for the mask that everybody puts on in working live and day to day life. You have to save your face, you pretend, you are cool and unemotionally without evident feelings. Infiniti wants to take off this mask from its customers and help them to get out of themselves. Infiniti itself proves with its bombastic festival that it is able to realize big plans and that fun and game blast every limit. The mask broke into pieces during the show and was thus defeated by joy, innovation and fantasy. Katy Perry performed her top hits “Roar,” “Teenage Dream”, “Unconditionally”, “Part of me” and “Firework” in changing costumes and showed an impressive stage show. Other stars like Jane Z, Chris Lee and Jimmy Lin sang their hits, dancers, show acts and speeches rotated on stage. The audience experienced the brand Infiniti and the latest models innovational and emotionally through spectacular entertainment.

Katy Perry, the formula one and the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team or the artists of the Cirque du Soleil ®, Infiniti looks for event partners who make everything possible, step beyond and extravagate. With Bocatec Infiniti thus booked for the second time the expert for event and laser technics from Hamburg who realizes every vision. Infiniti was deeply impressed by the show made by Bocatec and plans already the next events with the laser specialist. The marketing department of Infiniti now even uses the pictures of the laser show for further promotion in different media. We look forward to the next amazing show with Infiniti.

The ADAC Jump & Race Masters attracted fans of ambitious motor sports and acrobatics from 25th to 26th January into the penny bank arena in Kiel (Sparkassen-Arena). The hall was sold out and the audience up roared due to the amazing Bocatec-Opening-Show of the motocross spectacle with laser, light and pyrotechnics.

Jump & Race Masters entertains
The crazy and breakneck action show takes place every year since 1987 in Kiel.  The mega event combines on two days JUMP (freestyle show) and RACE (super cross race) and offers the over 8000 spectators a well-stocked 4 hour program and nonstop entertainment at its finest. A terrific opening with big fireworks and a genius laser show with pyrotechnics by Bocatec heralded the show on both days.

Before the freestyler fly through the hall at the Forever Freestyle Motocross (FMX) with their breakneck jumps, Bocatec rocked with 16 lasers and around 200W white light power a breathtaking show. 16 flamers threw 8m high flames into the air next to 16 sharpys and divers other pyro and fire effects. The excited audiencecheered and was then in best mood fort he jumps of the top drivers from around the world.

A unique event full of power and action totally after our fancy. Or such crazy shows with flying motorbikes and spectator that jubilate and freak out, we love our job. We are looking forward to the next ADAC Jump & Race Masters 2015!

 


The 14th February 2014 around 2800 MLP employees met for their annual main seminar in the Estrel Hotel & Convention Center in Berlin. During this big meeting on Valentine’s Day the finance consulting company presented the new products and strategies to its staff. Bocatec escorted the presentations with a laser show that transported the content even more impressive. It’s your own fault if you don’t fall in love with your employer after this show.

MLP invests in employees
40 years MLP stands for qualified financial consulting of graduated professionals and ambitious customers. More than 800.000 private customers and 5000 company customers trust the financial service provider, this demands for permanent high-class training and continuing education of the consultants. So of course MLP doesn’t save on its employees. The annual meeting thus combines the imparting of the latest expert knowledge with the motivation of the employees through a varied program. The Estrel Center in Berlin is the biggest convention, entertainment and hotel complex in Europe. The top location in the capital and has made a name for its own entertainment program on an international basis. An optimal surrounding for MLP and Bocatec to realize a unique event.

Bocatec gets contents across
To get the company strategy across so that it reaches every colleague and get caught is a hard piece of work. Bocatec knows how to transport new concepts and present new products in order that they are well received. Therefore Bocatec designed eight different laser show intros and outros for the presentation parts of MLP. Framed by modern laser technics and surprising effects, the attention of the MLP people was assured to 100%.

Nine RGB laser projectors, four high-power fog machines and a hazer put the new insurance products on stage uniquely. As crowning finish Bocatec programed also an individual and futuristic laser show suiting the sound of Star Wars. Motivated and thrilled MLP employees were the result.

 


Over 500 Rolls Royce dealers meet in February for a meeting in the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The crowning finish of the several days event was an impressing, artistic projection made by Bocatec onto a huge water screen.

The guys of Bocatec came to Abu Dhabi for 4 days. After two days of buildup of water screen and extremely powerful beamers and the installation of the video software the projection could begin on day three. A challenge during the installation was the extremely low water depth of the spring of only 30 cm. Rolls Royce had ordered a special video artwork from video artist Kanjo Také. The symbiosis of art and the Rolls Royce world enchanted via the extraordinary water screen the dealers. For Bocatec it was already the third time to cooperate with Kanjo Také.

The location of this special event, the Emirates Palace, left no wish unfulfilled. The flagship of the famous Kempinski hotel group is the biggest and most luxurious hotel of the world. The pompous palace is a giant 2500 m long building with cupolas made of gold and oriental flair. For sure these days will be beard in remembrance of the Rolls Royce dealers.

 


From 12th to 15th March the international music and event industry met in Frankfurt on the Prolight + Sound 2014.  In this mecca of event technology with over 2000 exhibitors from 57 countries it was not easy to stand out and attract the visitors with one’s booth. Bocatec planned and realized a shiny and representative trade show appearance for the INV Group ad Destilan with an extra light and laser video show.

Bocatec took over the construction of the whole booth, integrated over 150 light effects and programmed especially for the booth a suiting light show. Thus Destilan could present its products in an appropriate surrounding. The Destilan Deutschland GmbH was founded in 2005 as importer and distributor for the German market. The company offers value for money and quality musical instruments, PA- and light technics. As part of the international operating INVMUSICGROUP Destilan reacts flexibly and quick to the demands of the market.

On the international leading trade show for event technology also Destilan has to show what is technically possible. The industry gets a general overview of the products and services of event technics and system integration here. To this unique innovation show do not only belong audio, light, stage and media technics, but also music instruments. Especially the event industry with an annual turnover of 3,5 bn Euro is well off, a positive driver hereby is the high innovation potential. Service providers like Bocatec have to deal with the latest technologies all the time in order to design the best event shows for their customers in the end.
